This is a real gem. A fantastic property of real character and charming decor. We spent two nights so as to have a rest day during a touring holiday. And it was perfect for that, with a big twin bedroom and plenty of space for guests in a drawing room and the garden with pool. Andy and Louise were wonderfully welcoming, fed us splendidly, and provided an atmosphere of casual relaxation. I confess we enjoyed making use of the TV and DVD player available to guests. Esperaza is great as a very French village rather than a cutesy, chocolate box place full of English people like the Dordogne. This is real France. Small enough to walk around in minutes. But big enough to have shops, a couple of bar-cafes, a good pizzeria, and an excellent creperie. So good not just for an overnight stop but for an extended stay. There is even a railway station so you can get there by train from Carcassonne if not driving.
