Lavenham Priory is Graded 5 Stars with Gold award given by the English Tourism Council and the Automobile Association. The house has won three important national prizes; the “AA’s Guest Accommodation of the Year award” and two awards from the “Which Hotel’s Guide”. Lavenham Priory is a “Grade 1 listed” half-timbered medieval house dating from the 13th century. Staying in this historic house provides a truly unique and unforgettable experience at an affordable price. Bedchambers feature braced crown posts, Elizabethan wall paintings and oak floors, with four-poster, lit bateau and polonaise beds. A number of the beds were bespoke made for the bedrooms by a Lavenham cabinetmaker. Lavenham is regarded as one of the finest medieval villages in England with its historic buildings and streets. In Lavenham you will be able to visit our “Wool Church” of St Peter & St Paul, the National Trust’s Guildhall, as well as The Little Hall, home of the Suffolk Preservation Society. From Sudbury, take B1115 (B1071) to Lavenham. From Bury St. Edmunds join A134 towards Sudbury, then turn left onto the A1141 to Lavenham. Turn by the side of the Swan onto Water Street, then right after 50 yards into the private drive and Priory car park.
