Le Bentley est une élégante maison de ville de l’ère victorienne située à 8 ou 10 minutes à pied du centre historique d’York. Les propriétaires, Steve et Margaret Bradley, proposent un service de qualité. Toutes nos chambres, équipées de sanitaires privés, sont joliment habillées de tissus aux couleurs vives, et les murs égayés de tableaux. Outre serviettes, savon et gel de douche, nous fournissons la télévision, un séchoir à cheveux et un plateau avec bouilloire, sachets de thé, café et chocolat en poudre, et biscuits. Dans chaque chambre se trouve également une mini carafe de sherry pour votre apéritif ou votre boisson du soir. Pour accroître votre confort, nous avons garni les chambres de plantes en pots et de bouquets de fleurs.

The Bentley is an elegant Victorian town house situated just 8-10 minutes’ walk from the historic centre of York. The proprietors, Steve and Margaret Bradley, offer a high quality service. All our rooms are en suite and prettily decorated with fresh, colourful linen and interesting pictures. As well as towels, soap and shower gel, we provide a TV, a hair dryer and a tray with a kettle and a selection of sachets of tea, coffee and drinking chocolate, together with some biscuits. Each room also has a mini decanter of sherry, which you can drink as an aperitif or, if you prefer, as a night cap. To make you feel even more at home there are pot plants and fresh cut flowers.

A superb breakfast is one of the highlights of a stay at the Bentley. There is a choice of cereals, fresh-fruit salad, dried fruits softened in apple juice, plain and fruit yoghurts, home-made jams and marmalade, home-baked brown and white bread, as well as the traditional full English grilled breakfast of bacon and egg, sausage, black-pudding, hash-browns, baked beans, mushrooms and tomatoes. For those wanting a lighter meal, we offer smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Vegetarian options are available provided we have notice.

Wherever you are coming from by car, the easiest way to get to The Bentley is to find the northern branch of the outer ring road, the A1237.

If you come from the south on the A1 or the M1 - or from the west on the M62 - you will need to take the A64 to York. The ring road (A1237) turns off to the left just before you reach the city. You then continue round the ring road until you reach the large roundabout which is the junction with the A19. To the left/north it is marked Thirsk (and on this map Teeside and Darlington). You need to turn right here marked York City Centre. (This is the A19 going south but the sign does not say so.)

Continue straight down this road for just over 2 miles, passing several traffic lights. Eventually you will see a fine old school, St Peter's School, on the right. There is a pedestrian foot bridge here. Grosvenor Terrace is the third street on the left after the footbridge. (On the corner, set back in a garden, is the Churchill Hotel.) The Bentley is around 400 metres down Grosvenor Terrace on the left hand side.

Please avoid entering York from the southern ring road as you will then have to negotiate the town centre with all the attendant traffic and one way streets before you reach The Bentley.
