Description of B&B:

Le Puits is a family run Bed & Breakfast in the village of St Martin des Besaces, also offering camping and caravanning. Perfectly situated for exploring the undulating picturesque countryside, tasting renowned cheeses, sampling sparkling cider and of course, the famous Calvados. Once a working farmstead, the grounds have been re-designed with individually marked pitches, hedges, apple trees and borders overlooking lush green fields. The farmhouse, which has been tastefully renovated, retains its country charm with 4 elegantly decorated en-suite rooms (with tea and coffee making facilities) providing comfortable accomodation and pleasant views.Breakfast is continental buffet style, including fresh croissants, locally baked bread and home-made preserves. We have a quaint bar familiarly known as "Le Snug".To the North of "le Puits" are the D-day Landing Beaches and Bayeux with its famous tapestry. To the South is the historic and pretty village of Domfront, within Normandy's large regional park. To the East in Suisse Normand (little Switzerland) is Clécy with a miniature railway and the River Orne for canoeing and fishing. To the West lies the breathtaking Le Mont St Michel and the beaches along the Cotentin shoreline. Within the village, there is a Museum dedicated to the liberation of the Bocage Region and for the more adventurous - nearby Bungy Jumping.A warm and friendly welcoming awaits you at "le Puits" and we will endeavour to make your stay as enjoyable and memorable as possible.

Access:

FROM CAEN:At jnt 9 (Porte de Bretagne) turn onto A84 signed Villers Bocage / Rennes / Mont St Michel. Exit at jnt 41 - signed St Martin des Besaces onto D53. Turn right at traffic lights onto N175. Go through village for 500m then turn left into site lane (rue Slaugham), and continue to the courtyard at the bottom. From CherbourgFollow signs Rennes/Caen onto N13. After Carentan take the N174 signed St Lô. In St Lô (at traffic lights at top of hill by Chateau) go straight ahead following sign to Vire. At junction turn right (church opposite) and then left at next lights following signs for Vire & Torigni/s/Vire. At roundabout follow signs for Torigni/s/Vire. Continue through Torigni/s/Vire until roundabout (jnt. with N175). Take the 3rd exit sign posted St Martin des Besaces & Caen N175. (Do not take Blue sign A84 Caen!) Continue along N175 to the village of St Martin des Besaces. "Le Puits" is signed at entrance to village. Turn first right into lane (rue Slaugham) and continue to the courtyard at the bottom.
