Description of Logis de l'Astrée Bed & Breakfast:

Between Saintes and Cognac, the Logis de l’Astrée welcomes you all year round. This 17th Century nobleman’s house has retained its original austere style so typical of the Saintonge. “Warm welcome” and “harmony” are the watchwords of this house. You will find a serene atmosphere and large open spaces ideal for relaxation, a sitting-room/library, a garden in the vines, and a swimming pool situated among woods and vineyards. This is an ideal place to enjoy the riches of the Saintonge : the Atlantic coast, Cognac (the renowned spirit), Romanesque architecture, and the numerous festivals held in the towns of Saintes and Cognac throughout the year. The property of a family of winemakers for seven generations, the Logis de l’Astrée has been a wine-producing estate since 2000. You will be able to taste the family’s Cognac and Pineau des Charentes, as well as their Vin de Pays.
Guest rooms : Each room has a different character, but they all reflect the austere elegance and grandeur of their setting.

Description of Logis de l'Astrée Gite :

Although very much part of its immediate surroundings, the gîte is totally independent, situated as it is in the old servants’ quarters built into the wall surrounding the property. Benefiting from a private garden and direct but secure access to the swimming pool, it has been awarded 3 épis by Gîtes de France.

In La Petite Maison, comfort and tradition have been combined to provide holiday accommodation for 2 - 3 people. The plain fireplace and its potager (an old stone stove), typical of simple houses of the period, are still in place in the sitting room, which is overlooked by the bedroom on the mezzanine floor. The separate kitchen is tiled in terra cotta, as is the bathroom. The lime-washed walls and linen furnishings bring a cosy and homely feeling to the property. The private garden invites you to relax before a gentle swim. Bed linen and towels are supplied. Television by arrangement.

Fitted out in the dependences of the south outer wall of the Logis de l'Astrée, La Maison des Chênes opens on the West in front of wood which encircle the property. It is in the very quiet environment appropriate for the Logis de l'Astrée and in any independence that you can benefi of La Maison des Chênes.

Benefiting from two rooms with each their private bathroom (shower, WC) and of a surface about 100 m ², we can welcome a family from 4 to 5 persons.

A large living room opens on an own garden equipped with garden furnitures and with a barbecue. A small path allows to join the swimming pool of the Domain, Sheets and bathroom linen are supplied

Directions to Logis de l'Astrée

From Saintes, take the N141 in the direction of Cognac.

Turn left on to the D134, towards Saint Sauvant and Saint Bris des Bois.

Drive through the village of Saint Bris, remaining on the D134 and turning left in the direction of Brizambourg.

As you leave the village, next to the cemetery, you will find the Logis de l’Astrée...
