Description of B&B:

Château le Montmireil is a traditional late 19th Century Normandy château accommodating up to 20 people. 3 suites with 2 bedrooms and private bathroom and toilet.Guests have full use of the grounds, including the snooker room with full size table, large covered indoor garden with table tennis, dining or party area, and fish pond stocked with Koi Carp. Use of owner`s private indoor heated swimming pool.

Description of Gite:

The chateau can't be rent in self catering, only Bed & Breakfast. On the property, two houses can be rent in Self Catering: the Pavillon for 15 people and the Cottage, for 9 people.

Access:

From CHERBOURG : As soon as you leave the ferry terminal,will come to a roundabout. (There is a petrol station here in case you want to fill up). Take the turning off this roundabout for le Mont Saint Michel ( a large green sign). Follow this road out of Cherbourg, heading for Le Mont Saint Michel an St Lo, and you will eventually get on to a dual caariage-way. After going through a short tunnel under the canal (appox 30 kms from Cherbourg) take the first exit off for St Lo. Keep following signs for St Lo and continue on to dual carriageway and take the first exit off marked Periers/Hébécrevon. At the bottom of this slip road follow signs for Canisy off the roundabout.Once you arrive at St.gilles, a small village go straight over the roundabout (church on your left on the far side) and follow signs for Canisy. At the next T-junction turn right (there is a sign for Canisy pointing left). Take the first left by the white railings (orchard on your left). Ignore “No Entry” sign (this only applies to passing traffic, not the residents of this particular road). This is Rue Alphonse Lemerre. The Chateau is 150 yards on the right hand side. Turn in at the 2nd wooden double gates.From CAEN : Follow signs out of Ouistreham, through Hérouville St Clair, heading towards the ring road around Caen, called the périphérique Nord, take the A 84/E401 (blue sign), heading towards Le Mont Saint Michel or Rennes. Once you are on the A 84, stay on this road for about 50kms until you get to a sign marked Coutances/St Lo/Torigni-sur-Vire (exit 40). From now on keep heading towards St Lo and Coutances. Once you arrive at St Lo, you will be taken over several roundabouts, head towards Coutances. Eventually, befor you get to Coutances you will come to a village St Gilles. At the roundabout take the exit marked Canisy (church on your left on the far side). Continue as above.From LE HAVRE/CALLE : Take the motorway following signs for Caen, go round the périphérique Nord. And look for the A84 to Coutances/St Lo/Torigni-sur-Vire (exit 40) and follow directions as above.
