Description of B&B:

Robert & Christine invite you to stay in our cosy chambre d'hote (bed and breakfast), Le Repos du Moine (The Monk's Rest), an ancient stone cottage perched on Le Pas de Moine (the Monk's Step) above the tranquil mountain village of Fos and the picturesque River Garonne nestling in the heart of the Pyrenees.

Our accommodation comprises 2 comfortable non-smoking double rooms with beautiful views overlooking the village and river. Room prices range from 40 to 50 Euros. Single occupancy from 25 to 35 Euros. See our prices page for more details. Prices include breakfast; our breakfast menu consists of a choice of traditional English or continental breakfasts which include eggs from our own chickens, croissants, home-made jam, porridge, etc.

You can relax in our natural garden of 1500 sq mtrs, and enjoy breakfast under our shady pergola (weather permitting).

The village of Fos (near St Beat) was a frontier village trading in marble and wood and Le Pas de Moine (The Monk's Step) may have been the site of an old Dominican seminary. The village is sheltered by the Pyrenees and enjoys glorious sunny days in the spring summer and autumn amidst the picturesque snow covered peaks of the surrounding mountains.

The village contains a hotel/bar/restaurant, epicerie (grocers) and traditional bakery. There are several local restaurants in the surrounding villages and across the border in Spain.

Situated on the GR10 long distance walk, the local area offers a wealth of outdoor activities, including: winter sports; Alpine and Nordic skiing at Le Mourtis (17kms), Superbagneres (26kms), Peyragudes (40kms) and Baqueira/Beret (Spain's premier ski resort, frequented by the King of Spain - 46kms); walking (at all levels); road and mountain biking; white water rafting; fishing; horse riding; parapenting/paragliding and lots more.

Local tourist attractions include; the historic spa town of Bagneres de Luchon (26kms), the ancient hilltop cathedral of Saint-Bertrand de Comminges (27kms), and the beautiful Val d'Aran (4kms).

Le Repos du Moine welcomes walkers, cyclists, motorcyclists... in fact everyone!
