Description of B&B:

the king of france known as saint louis started re-conquering the part of his kingdom called aquitaine, which had been under the rule of the english for several centuries. in 1638, the «seneschal», lord of mouillepied, had to pay homage to the count of taillebourg.
in the 18th century, château mouillepied was enlarged by the chief engineer of the rochefort arsenal, guillaume clairins des lauriers, knight of saint michel. it became a lovely classical house, with terraced gardens and ponds surrounded by aesthetic stone walls.

the name «mouillepied» comes from the numerous springs on the property.

in charente maritime, the owners, welcome you to château mouillepied, built in the 15th and 18th century, restored keeping in character. it represents modern comfort in the countryside in the middle of romanic saintonge, 30 km to cognac and atlantic beaches : royan, ile d'oleron.
located 7 km to saintes on the left bank of the charente, exit 35 of the motorway : a10 from paris to bordeaux (110 km) and a837 from la rochelle airport (65 km).
all the bedrooms overlooking the park are spacious and comfortable with toilets, ensuite bathroom or shower room and a wide range of facilities.

on the ground floor of our beautiful stone mansion, we have public lounges where our guests can relax around the fireplace. the orangerie opens on to the peaceful and wooded landscape of the charente. you can choose your favourite tea or herb tea from a wide selection, enjoy a cup of coffee or some soft drinks : they are free and available in the evening. having a real pleasant environment we provide a lot of information about tourism in this area : fishing, hiring, going for walks, visiting vineyard.
in the park : 2 self-catering with central heating.
