The picturesque village of Roque Gageac is only a few minutes walk from the Manor and is officially classified as one of the most beautiful villages in France. The village's situation turns it virtually into a large natural solarium, making possible the creation of extraordinary exotic gardens. The plants and trees found in this town are rarely found elsewhere in the region, with variety ranging from banana trees to palm trees and bougainvilleas. From Roque Gageac it is possible to embark on a trip onboard the ‘Gabares’, the traditional flat-bottomed boats used on the Dordogne, giving you a taste of the history of the Périgord Noir. On these cruises it is possible to visit the enchanting castles and further villages along the Dordogne River.
