Description of B&B:
Tolou Bas is a nineteenth century farmhouse that has been carefully restored to offer up to date modern facilities. It is situated at the end of a quiet lane and is surrounded by fields and woods. The house has large gardens and a small peaceful wooded area to wander through, as well as a beautiful reservoir 15 minutes walk through the woods.
The house has four ensuite bedrooms (one on the ground floor), two with double beds and one twin bedded room. Meals are taken in the large farmhouse kitchen or in the garden with views over the surrounding countryside. Guests are welcome to use the kitchen to make tea and coffee at anytime. Wireless internet is available.
Tolou Bas is situated in an area of small historic villages and towns set in rolling countryside. The nearest village is picturesque Bassoues with its 43 metre high Donjon and medieval fortifications where you can spend a relaxing afternoon sitting outside and sampling the local food and wine. All the small villages and towns have weekly markets and many have their own colourful fetes. The region is also famous for its international festivals, the most well known being the two week jazz festival at Marciac (20 minutes drive) and the Country and Western festival at Mirande (30 minutes drive). The countryside is ideal for walking or bird watching. There is also a nearby lake for swimming, or you can spend a pleasant afternoon touring the local vineyards and sampling the regional wines and spirits. Alternatively, if you should want to go further afield head for the Pyrenees and the Pic du Midi or visit fashionable Biarritz.

Accueil très prévenant et attentif. Chambre spacieuse, décorée avec soin. Petit déjeuner à notre convenance très varié et joliment servi dans le jardin. Un lieu très apaisant où l'on se sent bien. Jane est à l'écoute et le plaisir de la rencontre est partagé.

A beautifully renovated house in a lovely area. The ideal place to go for peace and quiet. The bedroom we had was handsomely appointed and very comfortable. The breakfast is generous with home-made bread and jam and fresh fruit salad and kept us going until the evening when we enjoyed another substantial meal in the interesting little town of Bassous.

Accueil discret mais très prévenant et attentif. Chambre très spacieuse, jolie et confortable, petit déjeuner raffiné où l'on sent l'envie de recevoir et de faire plaisir. Un lieu idéal pour se reposer, se détendre et découvrir la région.

Had a lovely few days at Tolous Bas, the owner is extremely helpful and makes the stay friendly, you feel as though you are staying with a friend. Made a trip through to Spain enjoyable and couldn't wait to get back to Tolous Bas on the return trip to England. Will visit again soon hopefully.
