Description for B&B:

Mas de la Gache is an old farm, dating from the beginning of the 17th century. Since 12 years we (Esmé, Eddie, Julia en Lucie) are working hard to rebuilt the place and give it a new chance. Aside from small-stock farming, we also started built a holiday appartment so we can share our unique spot on France's map. The appartment is as good as finished and will be up for rent comming summer.

Our "Mas"(big farm") lays quietly outside the village (a 15 minutes walk) and is seperated from it by the river the Cèze. The distance between us and the village makes that we are created our little piece of paradise without traffic-noice, streetlights, animated holiday resorts or nosy neighbours. What we do have is mostly peace and quiet, loads of stars at night, the sound of birds and treehoppers, cackeling chicks and crowing roosters, fresh eggs and real tomatoes. And of course the climat is good in the better part of the year, which helps a lot. In short we have the perfect place to rest and do nothing bassicly. A good spot for long siestas in the shade of the trees on the riverside, late breakfast and real food for dinner..

For a reasonable price you can live high on the hog for some time in the deep south of France..

Firstmost what we think is important is the space and calmth around the farm. Something we really apreciate, and just hope you can enjoy as much as possible during your stay here. We really like waking up in the morning, and stepping outside with a coffee to listen to the birds, and the soft rumble of the river. Life, here in the south, is taking place outside. But that did not prevent us from building a 80 m2 appartment. Created on the first floor of one of the barns, it has a roof terras, overlooking the yard, two double (or tripple) bedrooms with their own bathroom and a big open living/kitchen. All restaured according traditional building style, the appartment supplies a nice fresh space during the warm summerdays.

Inside you'll find all the comfort you'll need during your stay. A big open kitchen, tv, a woodstove, heathed bathrooms and such. Outside, as said, a lot of space to play, walk or just hang around.
Goudargues is a small village with a population of a 1000 inhibitants. It's history goes back several centuries, of which traces are still visible in and around the village. In the department "Le Gard" Ggoudargues is known as "La Venice Gardoise" (venice of the gard), because of the little canals which find their way through the village center. Found in the Cèze valley, Goudargues is the center of the eco-tourism in this area. This mainly because all commerce can be found in Goudargues. We've got bakershops, butcher, hairdresser, beauty parlors, a village supermarket, several bars and restaurants, a postoffice a touris information and a couple of "we've got what you're looking for- shops". These activities are what gives a lively atmosphere to Goudargues, and prevail it from being just another beautiful, but dead, village.
Despite it's daily visitors, Goudargues remains a place where life is easy-going, with time for a cold beer, or a pastis, on one of the terasses along one of the canals, in the shade of it's 200 year old "platanes".
