Description for B&B:

The Manoir de Malagorse is situated in the rolling countryside of the Lot , on the outskirts of the tiny village of Rignac. The delightful medieval village of Martel is 10 minutes drive away and offers a charming selection of restaurants and shops. The Manoir is ideally located to visit both the valley of the Dordogne ( Sarlat, Domme, Manoir de Eyrignac, Chateau de Beynac……)and the historic sites of the Lot ( Rocamadour, Gouffre de Padirac, Carennac……..)The Manoir is diffused with light and filled with furniture and objects Anna and Abel have discovered in local Brocante markets. The kitchen is the heart of the house , the handmade immense cooking range is the highlight and the huge farmhouse table is used to host fantastic evenings when the weather doesn’t allow alfresco dinning. Breakfast, is a sumptuous affair of fresh juice, fruit, homemade yogurts and musli, freshly baked croissants and brioche, homemade jams and aromatic coffees and teas.Dinner is a four course meal served outside in the courtyard if the weather allows. Anna prides herself in delightful table settings, with crisp antique linen, fresh flowers and lots of candles.Abel favours the freshest produce, light aromatic flavours with a hint from Provence. For example, a menu could be, Rémoulade de Celeri au vinagre de Truffe, Filet de Perche au gingembre et huile de sésame, Rocamadour aux pommes vertes et miel and to finish Tarte fine aux pommes et glace aux pruneaux. Interesting regional wines are carefully selected to complement each meal and an extensive à la carte wine list is also available.Exciting vegetarians menus are available and children can have an earlier tea ( not chicken nuggets unless requested!) if preferred. The living room is a great place to unwind, curl up with a book in a leather armchair and browse through an interesting selection of coffee books. The Manoir offers a choice of five individually designed bedrooms, thoughtfully decorated with sumptuous French fabrics and locally sourced furnishings. The rooms vary in size and character , they all offer the comforts of home, with fresh garden flowers, crisp white bedlinen, fluffy bathrobes and delicious toiletries from Coté Bastide.Chambre Bleuet This exceptionally spacious room with double bed is located on the second floor .Dramatic high ceilings and wooden beams gives this room a unique atmosphere. Décor is muted linens with splashes of French blue and soft drapes.Chambre Jonquille Beautifully proportioned twin-bedded room which can also be made into a double. For the foodies , Anna and Abel can meet you halfway with a gastronomic picnic. The Area The possibilities are endless, as the region is very rich in historical sites and areas of natural beauty. The most popular chateau in the region include Chateau Castelnaud and Beynac.Other nearby attractions include the prehistoric caves Les Grottes de Cazelle and Gouffre de Padirac, a mysterious river navigation 103 metres underground. The medieval towns of Sarlat and Domme can be visited on a wonderful route around the valley of the Dordogne passing the spectacular Chateau de Montfort. The famous village of Rocamadour built into the cliffside is an essential visit. Off the tourist route the villages of Carennac, Floriac and Creysse are a delight. For keen gardeners there is a wonderful range of gardens to visit . Les Jardins du Manoir d'Eyrignac, outstanding in both beauty and design. Les Jardins du Chateau de Marqueyssac, boasts over 150 boxwoods and spectacular views of castles andvillages.Les Jardins de L'Imaginaire Terrasson, a flower and water garden depicting fairytales and legends. Directions

Pass through Souillac heading in the direction of the autoroute (A20).
At the first roundabout take D820 to Cressensac. The roqd climbs up a hill then becomes a dual carriageway. Once on the dual carriageway, take the first right, signposted D103 Eglise de Rignac.
Follow road over autoroute & up a hill, it then becomes a small country lane.
As you approach Rignac, you pass a small walled cemetry on your left and the church is straight ahead. Before reaching the church, and just after a stone cross on the right, there is a turning to the right signposted to the ‘Manoir de Malagorse’. Take this road and we are 1km further on .
