Lost among the cool shadows of tall sunlit trees, biside the languid waters of the Cananl du Midi, is a place of understated elegance and refinement. The 19th-century house is more domaine than château, though the vineyards have long gone. It sits in 12 acres... formal hedges, fine trees, ornamental railings. Dinner is served on pink cloths, breakfasts are a treat, bedrooms have tall windows, polished floors, an immaculate, uncluttered charm. Half a mile from the road to Carcassonne but so peaceful.
