Situated at Mailhac in the heart of the Minervois, in the Languedoc Region, this luxurious air-conditioned Bed and Breakfast has five rooms available. Each room, with its spacious bathroom, has been tastefully modernised. The shaded terrace and the secluded garden are perfect for relaxing and private sunbathing. Off-street parking.In the heart of the Minervois wine region, Languedoc Roussillon, Mailhac is an ancient village dating back more than 7000 years. It is located within easy reach of the places for all of the varied activities that you can enjoy in the magical valley of the Aude. Travel north to explore the area of the Montagnes Noir, its caves, its lakes and its walks, south to the busy beaches Enjoy spectacular food at some of the best restaurants in the region. within 20 minutes of our house there are at least 8 first class restaurants, some already discovered by 'The Michelin Man', others that need to be discovered by you first.

Description of Gite:

Situated at Mailhac in the Minervois wine growing region of Languedoc, this spacious (80m2) and luxurious air-conditioned gîte/apartment can sleep 4-6 people. The discrete sun terrace is perfect for private sunbathing. Access may be arranged to owners' swimming pool. Independent garden with BBQ allows guests to entertain their friends in style. This modern apartment in an original old wine grower’s house is situated in a tranquil village within easy reach of all the delightful opportunities on offer in this secluded region of France, close to the Spanish border. An ideal base for those exploring the area by car, on bicycles (which are available from the owner) - or even on foot. The World Heritage site of the Canal du Midi is five minutes away, thus allowing you to combine a stay here with a trip on the canal, or the glorious Mediterranean with its fantastic beaches are only 30 minutes away.

Access:

From Junction 36 on the A9 (Bézier ouest, Carcassonne & Mazamet). Distances are in kilometres and start at the toll booth (péage) as you come off the auto route. (Note that credit cards are accepted at all tollbooths although those marked with the letters CB are automated.)From the toll booth, continue to the intersection and take a right turn onto the D64 (sign posted Bézier, Mazamet & Castres).At 4.5 km take the right hand slip road signposted Montady & Capestang. At the top of the rise, (4.7Km) turn left onto D11 (Montady & Capestang).At Km 8.5 (the start of Montady) you will come to a roundabout/railway crossing continue straight on and through Montady.Continue on the D11 and follow the main road through the outskirts of the village of Capestang. (Do not take the road sign posted ‘Centre Ville’,) At this stage the route is signposted towards Olonzac. Somewhere along the next straight the road number changes to the D5 (We haven’t found out where the exact change is, so if you spot it, let us know).Signposts start showing Pouzols Minervois, Olonzac & Carcassonne.At Km 29.7, you will enter a small village called Cabezac and will cross a railway line near a filling station/café. You are getting close. Continue past the Chateau Cabezac until at KM 31.1 you will reach a roundabout.The more direct route along the D605 leads from the second exit from the roundabout, and is signposted Mailhac with the sign of a truck. Alternatively, you can take the first Exit (D607) is signposted Mailhac & Aigues Vives – take this one. After approx 2 Km turn left onto the D67 (signposted Mailhac).
