La Girada is a mountain lodge in the village of Mantet, at 1500m altitude, tucked into a lost valley in the Pyrenean mountains between the Canigou and Carança. This is where La Girada welcomes you and will be the basis from which you can explore this exceptional area.
The hostel offers accommodation for 20 residents. Guests can stay just one night as they pass through or for a week or two to really explore the region.
La Girada's cuisine is inspired by Mediterranean traditions.
In the Spring we enhance our dishes with vegetables and herbs gathered from the mountains. In summer, we gorge ourselves on our home-grown vegetables For your stay we have enough rooms for two or more persons, with communal showers and toilets. The house is built from local stone and, despite its rustic look, offers all comforts. On the ground floor is the communal living room. Here are an open fire and a sitting area scattered with cushions. You can take it easy here, read a book or play the guitar whatever you choose.
There are no shortage of things to do both in, and around, the village as well as hikes and treks to be made further afield.

Above all, LA GIRADA is a haven of peace in a village which is, literally, at the end of the road. People come to Mantet to experience the sort of peace that can only be found in Shangri-La: no cars, no noise, clear starry nights, long sun-filled days and the cool, crisp environment of the high mountains.
