Description of Gite:

Some words about our self-catering cottage ‘Les Bois’ at Régny (the Loire département):

Our gite is located in the Roannais area (which is an area between the Loire and the Rhone rivers), at the gateway to the Green Beaujolais wine area.

The altitude here is more than 500 meters high, which provides you an unrestricted outlook over the surrounding countryside (hillside position).


Régny is located in a semi-mountaineous area (at the merging of the Rhone-Alps, Auvergne and Burgundy regions and one hour drive from/to Clermont-Ferrand, Lyons or Saint-Etienne), which benefits from many tourist assets (nature, culture, heritage, entertainment events, water sports at the Loire river). ‘Les Bois’ is in fact a true green cottage in a dynamic area.


Located on the ground floor of a typical stone-built house of the Roannais area from the beginning of the 20th century, ‘Les Bois’ offers you full privacy and independence. The whole lodging is about 100 square meters and fully renovated, while preserving the authenticity and the character of the building. You will be accommodated in a cosy environment.


The lodging, the capacity of which is up to 6 to 8 people, comprises one large living room/dining room (oakwood parquet, bar furniture, old chimney), one kitchen fully equipped (refrigerator, gas cooker, microwave oven), two bedrooms (including one with an old chimney), one bathroom, an independent WC and a laundry room (with a washing machine).
TV set and household linen provided (sheets, hand towels, cloths, dish towels). Electric heating appliances.


Outside the lodging, you can benefit from a fenced field (including about one hectare covered with trees and bushes), a terrace, a set of garden furniture and a BBQ facility.


Examples of some activities on site or in the neighbourhood:


Walking/Hiking, Fishing, Tennis, Skiing (Alpine skiing and cross-country skiing) (Chalmazel resort, 1h15’ drive), leisure resorts (playgrounds for children), swimming (beach, waterslide, pedal- boats, tree-climbing and paintball at the Lac des Sapins just 12 kms away). Cultural heritage: many castles to visit, including Le Château de la Roche, Le Château Prieuré de Pommiers en Forez, and abbeys or monasteries (Pradines, St Nizier sous Charlieu, La Bénisson-Dieu, etc.).

One week (7 nights included): 400 Euros for 2 persons.


From the third person: 30 Euros per week (20 Euros for the children).
