Les Ruches, Sommières du Clain

Description of B&B:

Les Ruches chambre d'hotes is nestled in the picturesque village of Sommières du Clain which is overlooked by an imposing chateau. The village also boasts a restaurant, bar and small local grocery shop.

We offer table d'hotes and run cooking courses and gastronomic weekends throughout the Summer as Mark, the owner, is a talented chef.

We have a lovely garden which includes an organic kitchen garden and an above ground pool. The are many lovely walks and nearby rivers to fish from the farmhouse in the Vienne countryside which is typified by rolling sunflower fields. The historic captial of the Poitou Charentes, Poitiers, is just a half an hours drive away.

Access:

Entering Sommières du Clain from the direction of Poitiers cross over the bridge and take the next right turn up a little lane called Rue de Lavaud. If you pass the boulangerie you have gone too far.

Drive for approximately 300 metres and turn left into the lane marked ‘Cimetière’. You will see a gate between two large fir trees… you have found Les Ruches French Cooking Holidays!
