Description of Gite:

The accommodation is spacious with the emphasis on simplicity and comfort.
The gite has 3 bedrooms and sleeps 6-8 people
The apartment has 2 bedrooms and sleeps 4-6 people

Both the gite and the apartment benefit from environmentally efficient air conditioning and heating which you control yourself via thermostats in each room. All furnishings are new for this season.

The main house comprises three large bedrooms; an ensuite double (shower and basin), a further double and a twin.
The double rooms have kingsize beds (160x200cm mattresses).
An extra bed and a single futon are also available for slightly larger groups or guests bringing several children.

As well as a large shower and WC, the separate upstairs bathroom includes a bath suitable for bathing children. There is a second, separate WC downstairs.

The kitchen is fully equipped and is open plan with the dining area and lounge.

The lounge is light and airy, with double height ceiling up to the original beams, and exposed stone walls.

The lounge has comfortable sofas, books, games, CD player and CDs and television with DVD player and a selection of DVDs, and leads out to the terrace.

On the large first floor terrace, you can barbeque or simply relax and enjoy the stunning mountain views.

The courtyard apartment has two double bedrooms with kingsize beds (160x200cm), a large bathroom, kitchen and living/dining area, with french windows out onto the vined courtyard (shared with the owners' house).

There is a double sofabed available for larger groups (short stays only)

It is accessed via French windows from the courtyard and all on one floor, so potentially suitable for the less mobile.

Bed linen and towels are provided.

To save you bringing or buying beach/sunbathing towels, we do make them available if you require, for a small supplement (to cover laundering).

A cot, changing mat, baby bath chair, high chair, potty, steam steriliser etc are available on request if you are bringing a baby or small children. We can even loan you children's toys for rainy days.

Access:

We are approximately equidistant between the French Mediterranean coast just North of the Spanish border, and the ski resorts around Font Romeu.

We are at the foot of Mt Canigou (2785 m) at an altitude of 350 metres.

If you are flying then the closest airport is Perpignan (40 minutes away), served by Ryanair, BMI Baby and FlyBe. Other airports easily accessible are Barcelona-Girona (1h30mins by autoroute), Montpellier and Carcassonne (2 hours by autoroute).
