Description of B&B:

In the heart of Yonne in Burgundy, near Avallon, Carpe Diem, a former 18th and 19th century’s farm, opens its doors to a charming guest house.
The house is located in the small village of Massangis, known for several hundred years for its stone quarry and where the river Serein flows peacefully.

The stone of Massangis is worldwide known: it supports the foot of the Eiffel Tower; it has shaped the Abbey of Fontenay, the Grand Louvre, the Musée d'Orsay, the Opera Garnier, the MET. of New York and Ebisu Garden Place in Tokyo ...

Carpe Diem welcomes you to its 5 bedrooms decorated, with a "family spirit", comfortable rooms with king size bed for the larger rooms; Italian shower or Island bath according to your choice.

The property has an enclosed garden and courtyard where you can park your car safely.

The region is rich in sightseeing, hiking, world heritage ... You can explore the vineyards of Chablis, Irancy, Saint Bris, and Epineuil. You will visit the chateaux of Tanlay Ancy-le-Franc, the mysterious and unique chateau de Maulnes. You will be under the spell of Vezelay on the “eternal hill”, the Mecca of Christendom. Fontenay abbey with its outstanding gardens. You will walk around in Noyers-sur-Serein, a medieval village listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France. Montreal and its church (another medieval village), Avallon, Auxerre ...

Go back to prehistory at Arcy-sur-Cure, listed in the second global category of decorated caves.
Explore the villages of Dissangis, Blacy, Talcy, and Thizy. The Fosse Dionne in Tonnerre. The Morvan Natural Regional Park a country of green meadows, coloured fields, and river landscapes offering an ideal environment to relax.

In the late afternoon the gourmets will enjoy la table d’hôtes. A glass of Chablis, near the fireplace in the lounge or in the garden on fine days. Dinner: “a genuine Burgundian’s art of good living” accompanied by regional wines carefully selected : Cotes d'Auxerre, Irancy, Saint Bris, Epineuil, Chablis, Beaune, Rully, Savigny les Beaune ...
The cheese plate will bring some specialties of Burgundy, such as Soumaintrain, Nuit St. Georges, Epoisses, Chaource, Brillat-Savarin.

We are waiting for you.

excellente adresse, accueil très chaleureux, atmosphère de sérénité, de gentillesse, , un moment près de la grande cheminée et un diner digne des grands chefs. Elégance des nouvelles chambres.tout vous donne envie de prolonger votre séjour.
