Towards the end of the 19th century, The Minervois wine could at last be transported thanks to the Canal du Midi and the arrival of the railway. The owners of the vines grew rich and started to build chateaux and bourgeois mansions.Our house still retains some beautiful features from that period. Wine was kept in the chai and the wine business was managed by a dynasty of formidable women.
Marguerite was the mother of the previous owner.

By car
From Montpellier via the A9, exit 36 Beziers west. Take the D64 towards Mazamet for 4.5 km. Take the D11 to the left towards Capestang for 15 km. Continue straight ahead for 30 km from Carcassonne by successively taking the D5, D11 and D610 (which is always the same road!). You enter the department of Aude, after 6 km, turn right onto the D11 towards Caunes-Minervois for 10 km until Peyriac-Minervois crossing Redorte and Rieux Minervois. In Peyriac, follow signs for "Le Chai de Marguerite".
From Toulouse via the A61, exit Carcassonne west (exit 23). Follow signs for 8 km until Mazamet 6th roundabout. At the 6th roundabout, turn right onto the D11 towards Caunes-Minervois, continue on the D11 for 19 km across and Villalier Villegly. In Peyriac, follow signs for "Le Chai de Marguerite"

Station Narbonne (42 km) is very well served by [nbsp] TGV direct from major cities such as Paris, Brussels, Lille, Lyon, etc.
