An amazingly well preserved archaelogical site consisting of many "pools" for bathers and people coming for treatments, or relaxation. Cassinomagus is always changing, every year there are new finds and developments. Cassinomagus is now believed to have been the largest Roman Bath complex in europe with many thousands of people being employed simply in the upkeep of this enormous complex. In recent months an aquaduct has been found, revealing that the water source for Cassinomagus was transferred through a 5 km series of pipes.

Cassinomagus is built almost entirely from small square bricks carved out of melted stone/rock caused by the impact of a metiorite in the region. Sadly many of the bricks and stonework were taken away and re-used over the centuries, before Cassinomagus was discovered and recognised; walking around the town of Chassenon evidence of this can be seen in some of the houses and the church.
