Bed & Breakfast
In the seven years we have been running our B+B, it has been popular with guests for the charm and character of our 600 year old house, the hearty breakfasts we provide and of course our location, in the heart of the charming, narrow medieval lane Vau St Jacques with its granite and crooked half-timbered buildings.
There are many walks around the old town via a network of meandering, sloping, cobbled streets and alleyways, with close proximity to the river Thouet and old medieval castle ruins, St Jacques Gate to the North, castle ramparts to the West, and the Citadel Gate to the South offering picturesque views.
There are Romanesque & Gothic churches to visit, a Museum in our street & an Amphitheatre next to the Festival office with exhibitions & concerts throughout the year, as well as a Heritage House & the Palais des Congres nearby.
Parthenay is often used as a good stopover for cyclists, the Pilgrim walk to Santiago de Compostela, and major touristic sites such as Futurescope & Puy du Fou.
