Description of La Maison de Seraphin Bed & Breakfast:

La Maison de Séraphin is an old Mansart style traditionnal house from the 19th century.
Owned in the early 20th century by an Alsatian family, it was called Château Brüder in 1915. In the 30’s, several families lived happy there and enjoyed its pleasant surroundings and the wooden garden.
Then the war came, and the house was taken over by the german army, becomming a cantonment site of the “Kommandantur” (the German main office).
In 1944, British soldiers transformed the house into a MDS (Main Dressing Station) just after the liberation of Ranville and the capture of Pegasus Bridge and its sister bridge nearby on the morning of 6 june. You will discover an architectural scale model of the house showing this period at the Memorial Pegasus museum.
After the war, several Norman families lived in La Maison de Séraphin, and, from 1964 to the end of the 90’s, the house became an institution giving specialist services for children (Association des Papillons Blancs). In 1999, Réjane and Raoul brought the house to life, with all modern conveniences.
In 2014, Carole and Xavier invite you for a stay at La Maison de Séraphin and offer you a warm welcome in their charming guest house.
