Description for B&B:Le Perchoir des Paons is the perfect location for a relaxing break. Set in a beautiful valley in the Lot Region of South West France this recently renovated stone farmhouse is an ideal setting for both short and long stays. We also specialise in running full board Painting Holidays in this relaxed friendly atmosphere and our studio (converted from a stone barn) is available for the use of all guests. The house benefits from lovely views across the valley, as it’s built on the side of a hill and basks in sunshine nearly all day long. It’s set in farmland in a hamlet on the outskirts of the tiny village of Gindou in the Lot, midway between the Rivers Dordogne and Lot. We are a perfect base to explore the area - To the North it’s about 25 minutes drive to the beautiful Dordogne riverbanks with medieval villages, chateaux and canoeing. The lovely town of Sarlat is well worth exploring and has one of the largest markets in the area every Saturday. About 25 minutes South you will find the River Lot, with it’s vineyards stretching along the valley, and the lovely town of Cahors with its historic Pont Valentre and the old town full of cobbled streets, shops and restaurants. We offer Chambres d’Hotes facilities on a bed and breakfast basis as well as evening meals for those guests who want to enjoy the surroundings rather than going out. For visitors who wish to dine out there are a number of wonderful restaurants within easy reach. The property has five letting bedrooms and three bathrooms, one of which is en-suite. The accommodation is flexible and lends itself to both small and large groups. All of our rooms have beautiful views. We have an outdoor swimming pool (10m x 5m) surrounded by an attractive terrace with sunbeds and chairs for relaxing and sunbathing. You can enjoy yourselves quietly sitting in our sheltered garden or take a stroll through the woods and fields surrounding the house, where you can frequently see unusual birds, animals and wild flowers, depending on the time of year.We are near the well-known villages of Cazals, with its Sunday market, shops and restaurants, Les Arques with its famous ‘Zadkine’ museum and the restaurant ‘La Recreation’. Many other local restaurants and places of interest are within easy driving distance.
