Description for B&B:

The Guesthouse
The Chambres d’hôtes de l’Union is located in the centre of Nizas village, just a 5 minute drive to Pézenas with Pézenas itself just 20 minutes to Beziers and 35 minutes from Montpellier. The guesthouse is a fresh and stylish take on the traditional French bed and breakfast. Run by a British owner who has lived in France for many years the guesthouse occupies the old village cafe and offers two doubles both with en suites (with family room opening in January 2020). Each room mixes modern with traditional for a stay that will leave guests feeling pampered and relaxed. Art lovers will particularly enjoy the eclectic paintings which adorn the walls, collected over a period of 20 years.

The Double Rooms
Each room has been specifically designed with guest experience at the heart of things. Spaciously constructed, the doubles are afforded great head height with reclaimed beams on show again after years encased in plaster.

Room 1
The flooring in this room consists of the inherited classic French tiling which has been made over to complement the wall palette (Abigail Ahern “Rivington Blue”) to dramatic effect. The room has an HD tv with wide range of both UK and French television channels and benefits from Netflix access. Naturally, there is free wifi access and the room benefits from connection to Sonos, meaning guests can access all music and radio channels through their mobile devices. Sleeping is also given a top priority; guests will fall asleep on a new, award-winning Simba mattress, best quality French linen bedding, Wopilos, Liberty curtains and a Russian goose down duvet. The en suite is stylishly decorated in chrome, bamboo, slate and stone again set against exposed beams to complete the eclectic yet sympathetic modern vibe. Fluffy white John Lewis towels, complementary toiletries [from Companie de Provence], three types of dressing robes, and slippers, complete the luxurious elements of your stay. A hairdryer and coiffeuse, a Nespresso machine (with Vintage Crown Derby China), fresh flowers, complimentary fruit, vibrant oils on canvas and a safe complete the offerings of the room. Finally the views. Being at the very heart of this one thousand year old circulade village, each room has château and clock tower view view, making it one of the best in the village. Waking up from a deep and restful sleep to the sound of the morning call to prayer is quite simply a joyously French affair.

Room 2
Flooring of simple treated pine is contrasted with bold colour choices for the walls and woodwork with paint and inspiration coming from Abigail Ahern of London (“Mulberry Red”!). The Room has an HD tv with wide range of both UK and French television channels and benefits from Netflix access. Naturally, there is free wifi access and the room benefits from connection to Sonos, meaning guests can access all music and radio channels through their mobile devices. Sleeping is also given a top priority; guests will fall asleep on a new, award-winning Simba mattress, best quality French linen bedding, Wopilos and a Russian goose down duvet. Finally the views. Being at the very heart of this one thousand year old circulade village, each room has château, church and village square view, making it one of the best in the village. Waking up from a deep and restful sleep to the sound of the morning call to prayer is quite simply a joyously French affair.

The Breakfast
Breakfast is served, naturally, in the dining area where guests can start the day at a communal table, an individual table seating of two or take breakfast back to their room. The basic affair starts with the standard continental consisting of freshly baked bread, croissants and pastries accompanied by a range of cheeses and hams, together with a selection of cereals, fruit salad and yoghurts. Embellishment comes by way of cooked organic eggs, waffles and smoothies. A very wide range of teas and coffees are also offered together with freshly squeezed juices. Other tidbits are likely to include cake and pâté. A low sugar cereal option is also available and the milk is organic and fresh.
