Château La Mothaye offers a charming gites, chateau apartments and chateau studio's. All self-catering (with own kitchen, bathroom, sleepingroom, seating).La Mothaye has undergone recent renovation and modernisation although we have strived to maintain the original character and grandeur of the chateau. The luxury accommodation has features such as panelled walls and open fireplaces.
The unique combination of facilities including countryside, village views and swimming pool are all ingredients for the perfect holiday or retreat.
Description for Gite
Suite/Gite Calville d'aoûtCalville Chateau La Mothaye Loire Bed and Breakfast B&BA spacious suite which is ideal for families. Sleeps up to 5 persons. This suite has a main room with a double bed (160x200) and a single bed (90x200). A large kitchen and an ensuite small bedroom with two beds (90x200) is attached. You have a luxury bathroom (9m2) with shower and toilet.
This suite on the second floor is unique for its lovely view of the chapel.
Only to be booked per week, no breakfast included.

Chateau La Mothaye is located between Angers and Saumur (only five minutes drive from the A85 motorway) and therefore an ideal stopover for an overnight stay or a holiday in the beautiful Loire region. From here you can easily discover the chateaux, the historic towns, abbeys, the wine fields, and much more.
By Car via Channel Ports
Using the Dover port ferry crossings, the journey from Calais or Boulogne usually takes approx.4.5hours. Opting for a ferry crossing to one of the more southern French ferry ports (Le Havre, Cherbourg, Caen, St. Malo for example) can reduce your driving time on arrival in France but obviously the crossing times increase. Paris to Chateau La Mothaye by car usually takes approx. 3 hours.
By Train
Nearest TGV is in Angers (30 min to station: Angers St. Laud). Eurostar from London Waterloo (St. Pancras in 2007) or Ashford offer services to Angers and Tours. The high speed TGV trains run from Paris to Angers in only 90 minutes. If needed we can pick you up from the Angers train station. There is also car hire available at the station.
By Air
Local airports include, Tours, Poitiers, Nantes, Angers and Rennes. Good flight offers are regularly available from reliable airlines from airports all over the U.K. to Tours, Angers, Nantes, Poitiers and Paris. You can take advantage of the fantastic online deals through Ryanair from Stansted to Tours- the flight takes under an hour! Car hire from Tours airport is very straightforward and prices are reasonable. Flybe offer flights from Southampton to Angers which is only 30 minutes from us by road.
