According to season or weather, meals are served either under the garden arbour amidst cherry trees, fig trees and herb garden, or in the family farm kitchen, onthe solid oak table and benches, standing on a well worn centuries old tile floor.



The village of Clavette is situated : 10 km from La Rochelle, 30 km from Rochefort, 10 km from the sandy beaches of Chatelaillon, Aytré and La Rochelle.

There is easy access to La Rochelle or Rochefort by train (TGV), plane, dual carriage ways and Motorways.

"La Collegiale", a typical Charentais farm house stands at the heart of old Clavette, in a 13acre stone-walled garden, where it affords comfortable and convivial accommodation.

You will be able to enjoy :

- Tennis, boules, basketball and riding in the village.

Water games and sports at Périgny and Chatelaillon, (7 and 10km away).

-Cycle tracks, hiking paths, ponds and meadows in the neighbouring contryside.



Those who enjoy NATURE, will find in the Aunis marshlands

- The islands of Aix, Madame, Oléron and Ré, Fort Boyard, all of which can be reached by boat, bridge or causeway, are bathed in a light which will delight the artist as much as the simple nature lover.

- The more exotic Zoo of La Plamyre near the vast sandy beach of Royan.



The GOURMETS will appreciate local dishes accompanied by the local "Pineau", wine or brandy (Cognac).
