Description for B&B:The old Presbytery in the village of Bugarach deep in the Aude countryside where you will be welcomed by the hosts at this lovely old building alongside the church in the centre of this peaceful village (don’t worry, the church bells no longer chime and are only tolled when a local inhabitant dies). It has been recently renovated to a high standard with the original heavy stone walls and carved wood in sympathy with its origins in 1686, that will ensure that you have a comfortable relaxing stay. The village is located at the foot of the Pic de Bugarach, the highest peak in the Corbieres (1230m). It is in the heart of the Cathar country and is the ideal base to discover its many attractions : Rennes-les-Chateau and its mysteries, the incredible Gorges de Glamus, the thermal baths at Rennes-les-Bains, the Cathar castles of Puivert, Arques, Puilairens, Queribus and Peyrepertuse, not to forget the natural beauty and stunning views of this area whatever the time of year, that can be discovered on foot, by horse or bicycle or in your car.
