Description:

Description for B&B:

On the first floor, a room with high ceiling, spacious (23 m²), with two single beds (comfortable mattresses, choice of pillows) that can be combined into a double bed. Soak your tired bones in the large, modern private bathroom (large windowdouble marble basin, corner bath, WC). Use of the dining room / reception room on the ground floor. Bike park in the cellar. The second floor is reserved for the owners' accommodation.

This is a medieval stone townhouse on three levels, right in the center of a historic village and at the foot of the Alpilles. We do not have a garden, let alone a swimming pool. But we have everything you need for a peaceful and comfortable night, as well as all the attributes of a solid breakfast to start the next day!

Breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice, and tea, coffee or hot chocolate; French bread, croissants and butter, jams, honey etc. This is a substantial breakfast and can be served at any time with a selection from the following two choices, subject to arrangement the night before :
Generous breakfast (included as part of the fixed B&B price): with selection of cheeses, cold meats.
English breakfast (surcharge of 6 p.p.) : 2 fried eggs, fried tomato, sausage, bacon, baked beans.
Special requests will be graciously considered!

Surroundings
Feeling lethargic? Ride a bike on the Mont Ventoux in the morning, lose yourself in the perched villages of the Luberon seeking an aperitif, then spend the afternoon climbing the cliffs of the Alpilles just down the road! Here's what you'll find in the surrounding area:
Supermarket: 700 m
Fruit and vegetable stand, with adjacent baker: 350 m
Restaurant, delicious: 270 m
Climbing, internationally renowned site, height of 70 m: 2 km
Swimming and water skiing: 1.5 km (gravel village surrounded by cliffs and woods)
Swimming pool: 7 km (in Cavaillon)
Massage, beauty salon: 300 m
Tennis courts: 500 m
Hiking trails: 500 m
Dedicated cycle paths: two converted disused railway lines very close. One starts 4 km away and extends 12km. The other (Eurovélo 8) starts 8 km away, 40 km long. And several others further away covering hundreds of kilometers.
Bike rental: 7 km, in Cavaillon
Horse riding: 9 km, outskirts of Orgon.
Golf: 23 km to Morières and two others (Maussane-les-Alpilles and Pont Royal) within 28 km
Coastline: 60 km, bay of Marseille with sandy beaches
Balneotherapy: 13 km in Eygières
Tasting of wine and olive oil: 4.5 km (Valdition), and countless others.
Find yourself crushed directly under the cliffs, at the eastern end of the limestone Alpilles and the Durance, where villagers once required the toll of passers-by. Admire the right bank of the river and the mighty Luberon Massif and, further, the Vaucluse, the highest point of Mont Ventoux.
The house is located just inside the portico of St. Anne, by which Napoleon passed in 1814. The building is distinguished by the many plants hanging on the facade, 30 m downstream of the portal, on the left. Orgon, founded in the Middle Ages, houses a monastery perched on the cliffs of the Alpilles, the castle in ruins of the Duke of Guise, and a magnificent church overlooking the town square.
The city is ideal as a base for outdoor activities, and we would love to advise you. It is at the heart of countless bike paths, whether for road racers (for example, the "Roquemartine", or up to Mont Ventoux), hikers or mountain bikers. Just outside the city is an internationally renowned climbing site, as well as a gravel pit turned into a recreational area with water-skiing on cable.

Transportation
It may be a small town with a village character, but it still has its own train station, with around six daily services to Marseille and Avignon. If you have to bring a car, it is best to park just outside the city walls, then walk a few meters. If you arrive by bike, store them inside the house, on bike racks or in the bowels of the rocks.

Interacting with our guests
We live on the 2nd floor, leaving the rest of the house mainly for the use of our guests. We remain discreet but will also be happy to talk with you!

Appréciations pour La Bégude Des Alpilles, Orgon:

Etapes reposante
Review by: Ferretti, Sep 8 2022 9:35AM
Nous avons fait une belle étape très reposante au début de notre périple. La maison est très agréable et la chambre très calme.
Nous en ferons une autre au retour car les échanges avec ce charmant couple sont très enrichissants.

Directions

Approach the village from the Avignon, Cavaillon side. At the prominent roundabout on the West side of the village, descend towards the village along the main road D7N. After 500 m ignore left bend, but continue STRAIGHT 150 m towards mini-roundabout. Turn left to pass under the portico. Look for flowery facade on left side after 30 m.
